Instagram Inspiration In Essex – 5 Accounts To Follow

By Laura Parker / Marketing , Social Media / 19th December 2017

Instagram is fast becoming one of the most popular social media outlets, and businesses are tapping into the scene to increase engagement with their followers and drive sales. We’ve been seriously impressed by some of the businesses in our local area who are nailing Instagram and we’ve learnt some cool tricks from them ourselves – we think your business could be inspired too!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company

The Vintage Cosmetic Company sells a range of 1950s inspired beauty tools, from make-up brushes to pretty accessories. You’re guaranteed to fall in love with their products. First impressions count and their feminine-chic feed along with a cool colour theme makes a stylish statement.

Word of advice… never underestimate the power of an Instagram bio! This is where The Vintage Cosmetic Company includes their branded hashtag #thevintagecosmeticcompany with a clear call to action – “Tag your images” not only is this increasing the reach of their products, but it’s creating user generated content.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company also increases user interactivity by running lucrative giveaways which require followers to tag a friend for a chance to win. This friend is then also encouraged to follow the brand for a chance to enter. This tactic has been incredibly successful, with a 200% increase in comments and x20 increase in likes. The small cost to the company in the price of the prize will be worth the huge increase in followers and new potential customers. It’s a win-win –  followers get a divine beauty advent calendar and The Vintage Cosmetic Company increase their brand awareness.

Eaton House

Fan of pink? This one’s for you! Eaton House is a hidden gem just 5 minutes up the road from us and is the perfect location for photo shoots and glam events. They use Instagram to share the beautiful interiors of Eaton House, coverage from magazines, and a whole lot more.

Something that Eaton House Studio does fabulously on Instagram is give us serious house envy! When scrolling through their theme, you’ll shortly be mesmerised by all things dreamy. Showcasing your product or services through creative imagery will certainly attract clients and this is something these guys do extremely well. Think waterfall memorials, botanical living and magical dining – this destination is sure to entice visitors from across the globe.

Engaging with your fans is super important, and it’s no surprise that these guys pack a whole lot of personality into their comments and eccentric posts. Users are guaranteed to enjoy the quirky updates and personable responses!

Jump Street

Jump Street Essex is a local Trampoline Park based in Chelmsford and Colchester. Exercise gets a fun twist as visitors literally bounce off the walls with friends at this playful venue. Jump Street captures their followers’ attention with exciting videos showing their trampolines being put to good use by some expert athletes. Fun is the focus at Jump Street, and their videos capture this perfectly. Studies have shown that video content holds users’ attention for longer than text or photo posts… so grab your director’s hat and get filming!

Jump Street also utilises celebrity influencers to gain interest. Local legend Olly Murs is featured, and with his fan following being a similar target audience as the business this is an investment well spent. Influencers are a great way to tap into an audience and entice new business. Olly’s video on his own page, tagging Jump Street in, had nearly 120,000 views and over 320 comments – all potential new business for Jump Street.

Nigel Fredericks Butchers

Taking pride in your products is key and Nigel Fredericks Butchers relish this as they show off their lovely livestock for all their followers in their Instagram Stories.

Instagram Stories is a great way to add fun temporary content for your audience to interact with, and Nigel Fredericks has mastered it. Last week, they gave us a live behind-the-scenes tour of their cow shed, which was not only incredibly cute, but it also created a notification for users to drive their brand to front of mind. Users currently on Instagram are given a flashing ring at the top of their screen, and users with the app closed are often given a notification on their home screen. Either way, these both grab followers’ attention and direct people to your Instagram page. With three top chefs liking the video, this was a great little insta story for Nigel Fredericks.

Keep an eye out for a future blog post where we’ll give you lots of top tips on how to capitalise on the Instagram Stories feature and make your profile stand out.

Capturing your audience’s attention is super important, so when you’re trying to connect with those early morning commuters, make a statement with your posts. Think strong text and bold images! Nigel Fredericks snaps certainly caught our eye, did they catch yours?

Colchester United

Colchester United’s content game is seriously strong, and with over 4,500 people following them on Instagram, they always make sure their posts are relatable to their audience. With plenty of fan interaction and photos of the supporters, Colchester United have created a community feel to their Instagram which has led to a high level of engagement with their ever-loyal fan base.

Have you picked up on the carousel trend for Instagram yet? It’s a great way to share multiple pieces of content to tell a story. Colchester United uses their game day carousels to capture the ecstatic atmosphere at The Weston Homes Community Stadium whilst simultaneously maximising engagement! Further still, statistics show the carousel holds users’ attention for longer than a solo image.

So get creative and collate your own carousel to capture the magic of your brand.
